Civil Rights Leaders Demand Justice at Funeral for Nolan Wells, Found Dead on Mississippi Island

The family of Nolan Wells gathered Monday to say their final goodbye to the 19-year-old, whose death has drawn the attention of civil rights leaders demanding answers.

Wells was found dead on Horn Island, located off the coast of Mississippi, after he had traveled there with a group of friends to celebrate the Fourth of July. He never made it back home.

His parents organized the funeral service, which was attended by civil rights leaders who used the occasion to call for justice in connection with the young man’s death.
