BEIJING — Chinese President Xi Jinping is calling on Slovakia to help strengthen the relationship between China and the European Union, according to a report from Chinese state news agency Xinhua published Tuesday.
Slovak President Peter Pellegrini is currently in China for a three-day official state visit. During their meeting, Xi stressed that the key to improving China-EU relations lies in equal dialogue and the ability to find shared interests while acknowledging areas of disagreement.
Xinhua quoted Xi as saying the two sides should “engage in equal consultation and seek common ground while reserving differences” when it comes to managing conflicts between China and the EU.
Xi also outlined areas where he sees potential for China and Slovakia to work together, including clean energy, the digital economy, robotics manufacturing, and artificial intelligence — all considered emerging and cutting-edge industries.
