Nvidia and South Korea’s SK Group have jointly announced an artificial intelligence initiative valued at over $500 billion, covering both large-scale AI data centers and cutting-edge memory technology, according to Nvidia.
At the heart of the deal is a long-term agreement between Nvidia and SK Hynix aimed at locking in a supply of next-generation memory for Nvidia’s needs. The two companies also plan to work together to develop high-bandwidth memory designed for AI training, AI agents, and physical AI applications.
Under the terms of the initiative, SK Telecom intends to construct a 2-gigawatt AI data center that will run on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chips alongside SK Hynix’s HBM4 high-bandwidth memory. Nvidia said the first facility from that project is expected to go live in 2027.
In a separate but related announcement, Nvidia said it is partnering with Naver and Brookfield to expand Naver’s existing AI data center located in South Korea.
