Crowds at New York New Jersey stadium made their feelings known Sunday, raining down boos as U.S. President Donald Trump and FIFA president Gianni Infantino stepped onto the field for the World Cup trophy presentation ceremony.
Infantino had announced ahead of the ceremony that Trump would be the one to hand the trophy to the winning team.
Spain took home the championship, defeating defending title holders Argentina by a score of 1-0.
By the time Trump and Infantino began distributing medals to players and coaching staff, the crowd’s booing had died down.
