The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to bring in right-handed reliever Seth Halvorsen via a trade with the Colorado Rockies, according to reports from multiple outlets published Monday.
Per the New York Post, Colorado will receive two prospects in return — right-hander Nick Frasso and outfielder Landyn Vidourek.
Halvorsen, 26, has posted a 0-1 record with a 4.74 ERA across 21 relief outings for the Rockies this season. Over three major league campaigns with Colorado, he carries a 3-4 record and a 4.31 ERA in 75 total relief appearances.
The right-hander recently returned from the injured list after dealing with right shoulder inflammation. He made a rehab appearance at Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, throwing a scoreless inning. Los Angeles is expected to assign Halvorsen to its Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City.
Frasso, 27, went 1-0 with a 4.74 ERA in 21 appearances — including one start — for Oklahoma City this season. Vidourek, 22, was hitting .170 with six home runs and 24 RBIs in 59 games at the Single-A level in Ontario.
In a separate move Monday, the Dodgers optioned right-hander Kyle Hurt to Oklahoma City. Hurt had served as the extra 27th roster spot for the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader against the New York Yankees, during which he threw two scoreless innings.
