Dallas Wings standout guard Paige Bueckers has been ruled out for Monday’s matchup against the New York Liberty in Arlington, Texas.
The Wings, who currently hold a 17-8 record, announced that Bueckers will sit out for rest purposes after she took a alarming fall late in Sunday’s 90-82 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.
The frightening moment came in the fourth quarter when Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike was dribbling up the court, got fouled, and lost her footing. Ogwumike fell into Bueckers’ legs, sending the Wings guard to the floor, where she appeared to strike the back of her head on the hardwood.
Following the game, Bueckers underwent evaluation and was cleared of a concussion. The team confirmed she is not in concussion protocol, though she is experiencing soreness from the fall.
Despite the scary incident, Bueckers finished Sunday’s game on a high note, leading all scorers with 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. She also added five assists and four rebounds over 32 minutes of play.
The 24-year-old leads her team in both scoring and assists this season, averaging 20.9 points and 6.2 assists per game to go along with 4.2 rebounds across all 24 of her starts.
Bueckers earned WNBA Rookie of the Year honors in 2025, the same season Dallas selected her with the top overall pick in the draft out of UConn.
