SHANGHAI — China’s biggest technology companies put their latest innovations front and center at the World AI Conference in Shanghai, displaying everything from sophisticated robotics to powerful artificial intelligence platforms.
The country’s premier annual AI gathering ran from July 17 through July 20 and attracted more than 1,100 companies to its floor, all set against the ongoing and increasingly competitive technology rivalry between China and the United States.
According to state media, Chinese companies have now developed more than 400 humanoid robot products — accounting for more than half of all such products in existence worldwide. Meanwhile, AI models developed in China using open-source technology are gaining ground on leading American platforms, with growing adoption seen around the globe.
