Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer announced Friday that its firm order backlog has reached a record-breaking $34.5 billion as of the end of the second quarter — a 16% increase over the same period one year ago.
The company’s commercial aviation segment led the way with a backlog of $15.1 billion for the April through June quarter, reflecting a 15% gain. Meanwhile, the executive aviation division posted a 5% increase, bringing its backlog to $7.8 billion.
The remainder of the total backlog was split between Embraer’s defense operations, which accounted for $6.1 billion, and its services and support business, which contributed $5.5 billion.
Earlier this month, Embraer disclosed that it delivered 65 aircraft during the second quarter, representing an increase of approximately 7% compared to the year before.
