Wilmington Hair Stylist Faces Felony Charges After Pepper Spraying Client and Family

Delaware State Police have arrested a 22-year-old Bear woman on felony assault charges after she allegedly used pepper spray on a customer and the customer’s parents following a billing dispute at a Wilmington hair salon.

According to investigators, the incident took place on July 22, 2026, at around 2:30 p.m. at Thestylistmk, a salon located at 3650 Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington. Troopers were called to the scene after reports of an assault.

Investigators determined that the customer had received hair services from Mykahya Pritchett. After the appointment wrapped up, a disagreement broke out between Pritchett, the customer, and the customer’s parents over the cost and quality of the services rendered. When the customer offered only a partial payment, Pritchett allegedly followed the family outside and deployed pepper spray on all three people.

Two of the victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening. The third victim did not require medical attention.

Troopers secured an arrest warrant following the investigation. The next day, on July 23, 2026, officers returned to the salon and took Pritchett into custody without any resistance. She was brought to Troop 6, where she was charged with three counts of second-degree assault, all felonies. Pritchett was arraigned through the Justice of the Peace Court and released after posting a $15,000 cash bond.
