Delaware State Police are looking into a deadly two-vehicle collision that took place Saturday night in Newark.
The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on July 18, 2026, along Stanton Christiana Road near Old Stanton Christiana Road. According to investigators, a Toyota Camry was heading southwest along the road and navigating a curve when it lost control and crossed into the path of a Toyota Sienna traveling northeast in the center lane. The passenger side of the Camry collided with the front of the Sienna.
The Camry’s driver, a 17-year-old male from Bear, Delaware, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
The driver of the Sienna, a 46-year-old woman from Middletown, Delaware, was also transported to a hospital. Her injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
The stretch of road where the crash occurred was shut down for roughly three hours while police worked the scene.
