LA Galaxy Add Finnish Forward Robert Taylor on Multi-Year Deal

The Los Angeles Galaxy bolstered their roster Wednesday by signing Finnish forward Robert Taylor as a free agent.

The 31-year-old will remain under contract with the club through the 2026 season, with an option that could keep him in Los Angeles through December 2027.

Taylor was let go by Austin FC last month after recording two assists across two appearances this season. He now joins a Galaxy squad currently sitting in ninth place in the Western Conference, a team that has scored 22 goals in 15 matches — a rate that ranks 20th among all 30 MLS clubs.

Galaxy general manager Will Kuntz expressed enthusiasm about the addition. “We are excited to welcome Robert to the Galaxy family,” Kuntz said. “He brings versatility and a wealth of experience in MLS and will be a great addition to our locker room.”

Over his MLS career, Taylor compiled 18 goals and 18 assists in 116 appearances for Inter Miami between 2022 and 2025, then added one goal and one assist in 24 games with Austin during the 2025-26 campaign. During his time with Inter Miami, he was part of the squad that captured the Leagues Cup in 2023 and the Supporters’ Shield in 2024.
