Delaware is moving forward with a major overhaul of its emergency communications network after Governor Matt Meyer signed new legislation into law.
The bill establishes a reliable, long-term funding source to support the transition from Delaware’s aging 911 infrastructure to a modern, statewide Next Generation 911 — commonly known as NG911 — system.
The upgrade is designed to put cutting-edge tools in the hands of first responders and emergency communications professionals, ultimately improving the level of service available to people across the state when they need help most.
