The South American side had already been dealt a blow before the final whistle, with midfielder Enzo Fernandez receiving a red card and being sent off during second-half stoppage time.
Spain secured the championship win over Argentina in extra time, with substitute Ferran Torres delivering the decisive goal to give Spain their second World Cup title.
