A U.S. military service member died Saturday while handling unexploded ordnance in northern Iraq, according to U.S. Central Command.
The military said the service member was killed “during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance” — material that had come from a “downed Iranian one-way attack drone,” according to a statement released by Central Command on Sunday.
