A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for a stretch of the northern Gulf Coast as Tropical Storm Bertha moves through the region.
According to the National Hurricane Center, as of 10:00 PM CDT on Monday, July 20, Bertha’s center was positioned near coordinates 28.2 degrees north latitude and 85.9 degrees west longitude. The storm’s movement speed was not specified in the latest advisory.
Meteorologists recorded a minimum central pressure of 999 millibars within the storm, with maximum sustained winds reaching approximately 40 miles per hour — enough to qualify the system as a tropical storm.
Authorities are urging anyone in the path of Bertha to stay informed and take appropriate precautions as the storm continues to develop. Additional advisories from the National Hurricane Center are expected as the system progresses.
