Tropical Storm Bertha is making its presence felt across southeastern Louisiana, moving in a direction slightly south of due west as of Wednesday evening.
According to the National Hurricane Center, at 7:00 PM Central Daylight Time on Wednesday, July 22, the storm’s center was pinpointed near coordinates 29.5 degrees north latitude and 90.5 degrees west longitude.
Bertha was advancing westward at a forward speed of approximately 7 miles per hour at the time of the report. The storm’s minimum central pressure was recorded at 1002 millibars, with maximum sustained winds clocking in at around 45 miles per hour.
Forecasters and emergency officials in the region are keeping a close watch on the storm as it continues its westward track across the Gulf Coast state.
