A source inside Iran has told The Media Line that Tehran plans to invade Kuwait if the United States launches a ground offensive supported by Kurdish forces against Iran.
This warning follows public statements made Friday by Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani, a member of parliament’s National Security Committee, who declared: “If the United States puts boots on the ground in Iran, we may also launch ground attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain.”
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has separately accused the United States and Israel of collaborating with Kurdish groups in an effort to destabilize Iran, pledging a firm response to any such actions.
In an interview published July 19 with conservative journalist Jalal Mogoei, Araghchi alleged that Washington and Jerusalem were scheming to break Iran apart by using Kurdish fighters operating out of neighboring Iraq. He claimed President Trump had held conversations with Kurdish opposition leaders in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. Araghchi also alleged that exiled former crown prince Reza Pahlavi had struck a deal with Israel under which he would govern central Iran in the event the Islamic Republic fell.
Araghchi stated that Iran would respond to any threat coming from Iraqi Kurdistan. He noted that both Kurdish regional authorities and the Iraqi government had given Iran assurances that they would not permit such activities and would “control the situation.”
The ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States entered its 12th consecutive night of strikes. During the latest exchanges, Houthi forces targeted Saudi ships, the U.S. struck Iranian targets, and Iran’s military launched missiles at American allies throughout the region.
President Donald Trump intensified his warnings Wednesday with a post on Truth Social, writing: “From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran.”
The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. has sent additional troops, fighter jets, special operations personnel, and medical teams to the Middle East as Trump considers broadening military operations against Iran.
Trump said Iran “will be ready very soon,” making clear that U.S. military operations would continue until Tehran agreed to meet Washington’s demands.
Araghchi also warned that Iran would operate under an “eye for an eye” doctrine, stating that any nation that assists in military action against Iran would be treated as a legitimate target.
