Heat Advisory in Effect Wednesday for the Delmarva Region

A Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service out of Mount Holly, New Jersey, beginning early Wednesday and lasting through 8:00 PM EDT on July 16.

During a Heat Advisory, conditions are expected to be hot and potentially dangerous for those who are sensitive to heat, including the elderly, young children, and people with certain medical conditions. Residents are urged to limit time outdoors during the hottest parts of the day, drink plenty of water, and seek air-conditioned spaces when possible.

Officials recommend checking on neighbors, friends, and family members who may not have access to air conditioning or who may be especially vulnerable to heat-related illness. Never leave children or pets unattended in parked vehicles.

If you or someone you know experiences symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke — such as heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, or confusion — seek medical attention immediately.
