Delaware Capitol Police have taken a Dover man into custody following a reported sexual assault near the Kent County Courthouse over the weekend.
Authorities identified the suspect as Tyreen Williams, 30, of Dover. The alleged assault took place late Saturday night in the courthouse courtyard area.
According to investigators, the courthouse courtyard has become a gathering spot for Dover’s homeless population due to its lighting and access to electrical outlets, which people in the area use to charge their cell phones.
The Delaware Capitol Police are handling the investigation into the incident.
