A new state program designed to breathe new life into Delaware’s commercial districts is now underway. Governor Matt Meyer joined Division of Small Business Director CJ Bell to officially launch the Delaware Commercial Corridor Initiative, known as DCCI.
The program is aimed at helping existing brick-and-mortar small businesses make physical improvements to their storefronts, buildings, and day-to-day operations — while also giving a facelift to the commercial corridors where those businesses are located.
Through the initiative, the Division of Small Business will put $4.5 million in state Strategic Fund dollars toward property upgrades and equipment improvements for qualifying small businesses across Delaware.
The DCCI is structured to pair that state grant funding with additional capital from lending institutions, creating a combined investment approach intended to produce visible results in Delaware’s downtowns and commercial areas.
