Austin FC announced Tuesday the signing of Polish winger Przemyslaw Placheta, locking him in through the 2028-29 season with an option to extend through 2029-30.
The 28-year-old arrives as a free agent and could step onto the field as early as July 22, when Austin FC return from the World Cup break to host the Seattle Sounders in what would be his MLS debut.
Placheta spoke eagerly about the move, saying, “I’m really excited to begin a new chapter of my career in Austin. I can’t wait to make my debut and do everything I can to help the team make a push in the second half of the season. I also hope to use everything I learned during my six years in English football to help the team and make a positive impact in MLS.”
Before joining Austin FC, Placheta spent six seasons playing in England, suiting up for Norwich City, Birmingham City, Swansea City, and most recently Oxford United. During his time at Oxford from 2024 to 2026, he recorded six goals and four assists.
