Miami Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks is staying put — and getting paid. His agent, Erik Burkhardt, confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday that Brooks has agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $51.3 million.
The new deal includes $35 million in guaranteed money. Brooks originally came to Miami in March 2024 on a three-year contract valued at $30 million.
The 28-year-old had a standout 2024 season, topping the entire NFL with 183 combined tackles and 99 solo tackles. His performance earned him a first-team All-Pro selection for the first time in his career.
Brooks was originally selected by Seattle in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Across six seasons split between the Seahawks and the Dolphins, he has recorded 839 tackles, 13 sacks, and one interception in 97 games, starting 89 of them.
The Dolphins are currently in a rebuilding phase under new head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan. The team has made retaining its key leaders a priority after parting ways with several veterans, including wide receiver Tyreek Hill, linebacker Bradley Chubb, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and offensive lineman James Daniels.
Brooks is not the only player to receive a new deal this offseason. The Dolphins have also extended contracts for quarterback Malik Willis, running back De’Von Achane, and center Aaron Brewer.
Miami had a difficult 2024 season, finishing third in the AFC East with a 7-10 record after opening the year at 2-7. The team missed the playoffs, and head coach Mike McDaniel was let go when the season ended.
