State and county health officials in Maryland are teaming up to address a public health concern tied to the potential spread of mosquito-borne illnesses in Anne Arundel County.
The Maryland Department of Agriculture, working alongside the Anne Arundel County Health Department, has announced plans for unscheduled mosquito control operations on the evenings of July 28 and 29, 2026.
Crews will use Ultra-Low Volume, or ULV, truck-based spraying equipment to target adult mosquito populations in areas identified as having elevated risk. The spraying is being conducted outside of the regular treatment schedule due to the nature of the public health concern.
Residents in affected areas of Anne Arundel County should be aware of the planned activity during those evenings.
