Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy revealed Saturday that Russia is planning to deploy another 30,000 North Korean troops into the conflict, which has now stretched beyond four years.
Speaking during his nightly video address, Zelenskiy said the military cooperation between Russia and North Korea continues to grow. “We also see Russia’s cooperation with North Korea. Russia wants to bring in another 30,000 North Korean troops,” he stated. “Preparations have been under way in Russia’s Voronezh region since June to receive them.”
The two nations operate under a mutual defense agreement that previously led North Korea to dispatch approximately 14,000 soldiers to fight alongside Russian forces in the Kursk region in 2024, following a significant Ukrainian military push into that area.
