The latest figures from the federal government show a slight uptick in broiler poultry production across the United States, according to a new hatchery report.
Broiler-type eggs set nationally increased by 2 percent compared to the prior reporting period, while the number of broiler-type chicks placed rose by 1 percent.
The data, compiled and released by federal agricultural officials, tracks hatchery activity as a key indicator of near-term poultry supply trends across the country.
