Tropical Storm Bertha is making its presence felt along parts of the northern Gulf Coast, with tropical storm conditions already occurring in the affected areas.
According to the National Hurricane Center, as of 7:00 PM CDT on Tuesday, July 21, Bertha’s center was positioned near coordinates 29.3 degrees north latitude and 87.4 degrees west longitude. The storm was moving westward at a forward speed of approximately 6 miles per hour.
Meteorologists recorded a minimum central pressure of 997 millibars within the storm system. Maximum sustained winds were measured at roughly 60 miles per hour at the time of the report.
Residents along the northern Gulf Coast are urged to remain alert and follow guidance from local emergency management officials as the storm continues to move through the region.
