Delaware Governor Matt Meyer put his signature on three pieces of legislation Monday aimed at bringing down health care costs, broadening access to medical services, and shielding the state’s hospitals from private equity takeovers.
The signing ceremony took place in Dover, where the governor was joined by supporters of the new health care affordability package.
The three bills together represent what officials are calling a landmark step toward protecting Delaware patients and keeping hospital care in the hands of non-profit or public entities rather than private investment firms.
