According to the latest advisory issued at 1:00 AM CDT on Monday, July 20, the center of the depression was positioned near latitude 28.4 north and longitude 85.3 west. The system was moving at a sluggish pace of just 3 miles per hour.
Forecasters measured the storm’s minimum central pressure at 1007 millibars, with maximum sustained winds clocking in at approximately 30 miles per hour — keeping the system at tropical depression strength.
Residents in coastal areas near the Gulf should continue to monitor updates from weather officials as the storm’s track and intensity could change in the coming hours.
