The National Weather Service office in Mount Holly, New Jersey has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch that went into effect at 2:46 PM EDT on July 21 and remains active until 10:00 PM EDT the same evening.
Residents are urged to stay weather-aware throughout the remainder of the day and into the evening hours. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and near the watch area.
People in the affected region should have a plan in place in case storms develop, including knowing where to take shelter and keeping an eye on updated forecasts. Severe thunderstorms can bring damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall.
