HARRINGTON, Del. — The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced a temporary road closure in Harrington tied to the Delaware State Fair.
Eastbound Fairground Road between East Street and US 13 will be closed July 31 through August 1. State transportation officials say the eastbound lane is being taken out of traffic circulation to improve safety for pedestrians making their way to and from the fairgrounds.
Drivers who normally travel eastbound on Fairground Road will need to follow a detour. The alternate route directs motorists to turn left onto East Street, then right onto Delaware Route 14, and finally right onto US 13 southbound, which will bring them back to Fairground Road.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs during the closure period.
