Tropical Storm Bertha has come ashore near the border of Texas and Louisiana, with forecasters tracking the storm as it pushes inland and drops heavy rain across portions of the Texas coastline.
According to the National Hurricane Center, as of 1:00 PM Central Daylight Time on Thursday, July 23, the center of Bertha was positioned near coordinates 29.9 degrees north latitude and 93.8 degrees west longitude. The storm was moving westward at a speed of 10 miles per hour.
Bertha’s minimum central pressure was recorded at 1,004 millibars, with maximum sustained winds clocking in at approximately 45 miles per hour.
Residents along the Texas coast are being urged to remain cautious as the storm continues to produce heavy rainfall across the region.
