Pittsburgh Penguins Lock Up Forward Nick Robertson to 2-Year, $6.5M Contract

The Pittsburgh Penguins made it official Tuesday, inking veteran forward Nick Robertson to a two-year deal worth $6.5 million.

Robertson arrived in Pittsburgh on July 1 after the team acquired him from Toronto in exchange for a 2028 fourth-round draft pick. The signing comes after Robertson turned in the best offensive season of his career, recording 16 goals and 16 assists across 78 games with the Maple Leafs last year.

Originally selected by Toronto in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Robertson spent parts of six seasons with the Maple Leafs, tallying 48 goals and 40 assists over 234 regular-season appearances.

The California native also has postseason experience, having suited up for 13 Stanley Cup playoff games and contributing two goals and one assist during that time.
