Growing up in the age of artificial intelligence is a unique experience that no previous generation has faced. To better understand what that’s like, NPR reached out to seven teenagers from around the country and asked them to share their thoughts.
The question was simple but profound: What is it like to grow up and learn when AI is all around you?
The responses from these seven young people offer a glimpse into how today’s teenagers are processing the rise of AI — in their schools, in their daily lives, and in their futures.
While the full details of each teen’s perspective were gathered by NPR as part of this national conversation, the exercise highlights just how central artificial intelligence has become to the experience of being a young person in America today.
