Philippine Airlines Orders 15 Boeing 787s in Multibillion-Dollar Deal

Philippine Airlines made a major aircraft purchase announcement Monday, confirming firm orders for 15 Boeing 787-10 widebody jets, along with purchase rights for an additional five planes.

Aviation advisory firm IBA Group estimates the total deal could reach roughly $3.4 billion — based on projected prices after discounts — if the airline ultimately exercises its option to acquire all 20 aircraft.

A source with knowledge of the transaction said the jets will be outfitted with GE Aerospace GEnx-1 engines. The airline expects to begin receiving the new planes starting in 2031.
