
Delaware State Police are looking into a deadly crash that happened late Monday night on Whiteleysburg Road in Harrington.
Around 10:45 p.m. on July 13, 2026, a Chevrolet Silverado was headed westbound near the 1500 block of Whiteleysburg Road when, according to a preliminary investigation, a pedestrian was found lying in the road. The driver of the Silverado was unable to stop in time and struck the man.
The pedestrian, identified as a 62-year-old man from Harrington, Delaware, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding his name until his next of kin can be reached.
The 17-year-old driver from Milton, Delaware, walked away from the crash without injury.
Whiteleysburg Road remained closed for roughly three hours as troopers investigated and cleared the scene.
