India has reached a significant milestone in public health after the country’s drug regulator granted approval to QDENGA, a dengue vaccine developed by Japanese pharmaceutical giant Takeda Pharmaceutical — making it the first dengue vaccine ever to receive the green light in India.
The news was announced on Monday by Takeda’s Indian subsidiary, marking a historic step in efforts to combat dengue, a potentially serious illness spread by mosquitoes that affects millions across the country each year.
