PARIS — Six individuals are in custody and expected to face criminal charges in connection with a foiled plot to attack a synagogue in Sarcelles, a suburb located outside of Paris, according to France’s anti-terrorism prosecutor, who made the announcement on Saturday.
The identities of the six suspects have not been released. Their arrests came after approximately 300 people were evacuated from the Sarcelles area on July 12, when authorities discovered a suspicious vehicle parked near the synagogue.
The anti-terrorism prosecutor confirmed that investigators have linked the alleged plot to Islamic extremism.
