Emirates Says Boeing 777-9 Deliveries Expected in Spring 2027

FARNBOROUGH — Emirates airline is now looking at the second quarter of 2027 to receive its long-awaited Boeing 777-9 jets, the carrier’s President Tim Clark told reporters on Tuesday, as the delayed widebody aircraft inches closer to receiving its official certification.

Clark did not hold back when reflecting on the timeline, noting that the airline was originally supposed to receive the planes years ago. “We should have had the planes in April 2020,” he said, describing the prospect of adding them to the fleet in 2027 as “a stretch.”

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to Reuters on Monday that it anticipates the aircraft will be certified either late this year or in early 2026.
