DOVER, Del. — Delaware’s first confirmed measles case in more than ten years has been reported by the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH).
Health officials announced Monday, July 20, 2026, that a sample came back positive for the disease. The confirmation marks a significant public health development for the state, which has not seen a measles case in well over a decade.
DPH says an extensive contact tracing effort is currently underway to determine who may have come into contact with the infected person. Anyone identified as having been exposed will be contacted directly by health officials.
Residents are encouraged to stay alert for any further guidance from the Delaware Division of Public Health as the investigation continues.
