The Delaware Farm Bureau (DEFB) is gearing up for a busy Delaware State Fair, with members and committees showing up in force at locations throughout the fairgrounds — from the livestock barns and commodity buildings to the food court.
The DEFB Women’s Committee will be running the DEFB Food Booth, which is set up next to the grandstands. The booth serves up budget-friendly meals for families and helps raise money for scholarships and community programs.
On Kid’s Day, Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the DEFB Foundation will set up a table in Hertrich Plaza loaded with hands-on crafts, activities, and educational materials designed to help young fairgoers learn about agriculture.
For all 10 days of the fair, the DEFB Promotion and Engagement (P&E) Committee will operate an educational booth inside the Delaware Department of Agriculture Commodities Building. Visitors can test their knowledge with an interactive agricultural trivia game and pick up information about local farming.
New to this year’s fair is a limited-edition American flag-themed DEFB sock. Each day of the fair, the first 50 visitors who show P&E committee members a same-day receipt of $10 or more from the DEFB Food Booth will walk away with a free pair.
Throughout the week, DEFB members will hold “Ask a Farmer” sessions at various spots around the fairgrounds, giving visitors a chance to have real conversations with working farmers. The sessions are part of an ongoing effort to connect the people who grow food with the people who eat it.
On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the DEFB Young Farmers and Ranchers will host their 32nd Annual Antique Tractor Pull, starting at 9 a.m. in the Quillen Arena. The event draws antique tractor fans from across the region for a family-friendly competition.
