Tony Romo, the well-known CBS NFL analyst and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, has been taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence in Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office arrest report states that Romo was pulled over while traveling southbound on Interstate 43 on Thursday. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, the 46-year-old was arrested, processed, and subsequently released.
Romo is scheduled to appear in court on September 21.
The Wisconsin connection runs deep for Romo — he attended high school in Burlington, Wisconsin, a community located roughly 35 miles from Milwaukee.
Romo has served as the top game analyst for CBS’s NFL broadcasts since 2017. Before transitioning to the broadcast booth, he played in the NFL from 2004 to 2016, spending his entire career with Dallas and earning four Pro Bowl selections along the way.
CBS declined to offer any statement in response to the arrest.
On the field, Romo still holds the Cowboys’ all-time record for touchdown passes with 248. He previously held the franchise record for career passing yards at 34,183, but Dak Prescott surpassed that mark during last season.
