Berlin police have confirmed that the suspect wanted in connection with an attack at a Pride event in the German capital has been shot and killed during a law enforcement operation.
According to authorities, the confrontation took place at an allotment garden complex located in the Spandau suburb of Berlin. Officers encountered the suspect there, and the situation turned violent when he rushed toward them armed with a bladed weapon.
Berlin police shared details of the incident on the social media platform X, stating: “According to initial findings, he ran towards officers while armed with a bladed weapon; police subsequently opened fire. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts by the Berlin fire department, he died at the scene.”
Emergency personnel from the Berlin fire department performed resuscitation efforts immediately following the shooting, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the location.
