Airbus Sets Bold €13 Billion Profit Goal and Plans Major Share Buyback

Airbus revealed on Tuesday that it has set a 2029 adjusted operating profit goal ranging from €12 billion to €13 billion — equivalent to between $13.69 billion and $14.83 billion — and announced plans for a €5 billion stock buyback program to be carried out over the next three years.

If achieved, those targets would represent nearly twice the earnings the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer posted in 2025, as the company pushes to increase the number of planes it delivers to keep pace with strong customer demand while dealing with ongoing supply chain disruptions and shortages of aircraft engines.

Airbus recorded €7.13 billion in adjusted earnings before interest and taxes during 2025 and has set a target of €7.5 billion in adjusted operating profit for the current year.
