KYIV — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced Tuesday that Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi has been appointed as Ukraine’s new commander-in-chief.
During his evening address to the nation, Zelenskiy also addressed the controversy surrounding the unexpected removal of former defense minister Mykhailo Fedorov — a dismissal that triggered a political crisis. Zelenskiy said he has offered Fedorov a “decent post” that would put him in charge of overseeing the technological side of the government.
