Tropical Storm Bertha is moving dangerously close to the southwestern coast of Louisiana and is on track to reach the Texas coastline before the day is out, according to the latest update from weather forecasters.
At 10:00 AM Central Daylight Time on Thursday, July 23, the storm’s center was pinpointed near coordinates 29.6 degrees north latitude and 93.2 degrees west longitude, moving due west at a speed of 10 miles per hour.
The storm’s minimum central pressure was measured at 1004 millibars, with the strongest sustained winds reaching approximately 45 miles per hour.
