The Columbus Blue Jackets are keeping their goaltender in place for years to come, announcing Thursday that they have agreed to terms with Jet Greaves on a three-year contract worth $15 million, keeping him under contract through the 2028-29 season.
General manager Don Waddell made the announcement, offering praise for the young netminder. “Jet is a high-character, talented and athletic goaltender who has become an important part of our hockey club. Our intent always was to get a deal done to ensure he remains a Blue Jacket and we are thrilled that we were able to do so,” Waddell said.
Greaves, 25, put together an impressive season between the pipes, going 26-19-9 with a 2.60 goals-against average. That win total made him only the fifth goaltender in Blue Jackets history to reach the 25-win mark in a single season. He posted two shutouts across 55 appearances, and his .908 save percentage ranked tied for sixth among all NHL goaltenders.
Looking at his career numbers, Greaves has appeared in 76 NHL games, compiling a 36-28-11 record along with a .913 save percentage and four shutouts. He first stepped onto an NHL ice surface at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.
A native of Cambridge, Ontario, Greaves also represented his country on the international stage, making his debut for Canada at the 2026 IIHF World Championships held in Switzerland. He went 6-2 in the tournament, a record that tied him for third in total wins among all goaltenders in the competition.
