Tropical Storm Bertha has lost enough strength to be downgraded to a tropical depression, and all tropical storm warnings associated with the system have been officially discontinued.
According to the National Hurricane Center, as of 7:00 PM Central Daylight Time on Thursday, July 23, the center of the storm was positioned near coordinates 29.9 degrees north latitude and 95.3 degrees west longitude. The storm was moving westward at approximately 13 miles per hour.
The depression’s minimum central pressure was recorded at 1007 millibars, with maximum sustained winds of around 35 miles per hour — below the 39 mph threshold required for tropical storm classification.
With the tropical storm warnings now lifted, residents in previously affected areas should continue to monitor local forecasts as the weakened system moves inland.
