Two-time NBA All-Star Ja Morant is on his way to Portland after the Trail Blazers and the Memphis Grizzlies reached a trade agreement Monday, according to a person familiar with the deal.
The agreement gives Morant a fresh start and a chance to rebuild his career, while Memphis shifts its focus toward a new direction. The source spoke to The Associated Press under the condition of anonymity, noting that the trade has not yet received the required approval from the league.
In exchange for Morant, Portland will send forward Jerami Grant and Kris Murray to Memphis as part of the arrangement.
ESPN was first to report the deal.
