The New York Rangers wasted no time securing their newest forward, inking Pavel Dorofeyev to a seven-year contract worth $77 million on Tuesday.
The Rangers brought Dorofeyev over from the Vegas Golden Knights last Friday, giving up three draft picks as the 2026 NHL Draft was underway. Vegas walked away with the 26th and 92nd overall selections in the first and third rounds of the 2026 draft, along with a conditional first-round pick in 2028.
Having traded for a goal-scorer in the prime of his career, New York backed it up with a contract to match.
Dorofeyev turned in the best numbers of his career during the 2025-26 season, posting 37 goals, 27 assists, and 64 total points while appearing in all 82 regular-season games for Vegas. He kept up that production into the postseason, tallying 12 goals and four assists over 22 playoff contests.
In 231 career games spread across parts of five seasons with the Golden Knights, the winger has accumulated 149 points — 92 goals and 57 assists.
