A major Taiwanese electronics manufacturer and Nvidia supplier has officially opened the doors to a $700 million production facility in Fort Worth, Texas, marking a significant step in the push to build artificial intelligence infrastructure on U.S. soil.
The company, Wistron, held a launch event Tuesday for the new plant, which is dedicated to producing Nvidia’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip — a cutting-edge AI computing system that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has called “the most powerful AI supercomputer in the world.”
According to Wistron, the Fort Worth location is where Nvidia’s first GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip was assembled and moved into full-scale U.S. production. The facility is also expected to manufacture Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin Superchip down the line.
Nvidia says the factory is on pace to ramp up output significantly this year, with production expected to reach tens of thousands of computing boards every month.
On the employment front, the plant has already brought more than 500 jobs to the Fort Worth area, and Nvidia says the workforce is on track to double to 1,000 employees before the year is out.
Nvidia also noted that the Wistron plant in Fort Worth is part of a broader $500 billion investment commitment in the United States that the company announced in 2025. The move reflects a wider trend of Taiwanese electronics manufacturers expanding their American manufacturing footprint to keep pace with rapidly growing demand for AI technology.
